Depression and Anxiety
Feeling like you cannot get out of bed? Are you feeling helpless, hopeless, with lack of motivation or energy to complete daily activities? Are you worrying excessively, having trouble sleeping, or having problems concentrating?
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is considered to be the treatment of choice for Depression and Anxiety. The main focus of CBT is to change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour, and replace them with better coping startegies to deal with different adversities that we face in everyday living. Negative thinking can affect a person's mood, thoughts, behaviour and sense of who they are, which predisposes individuals to depression and anxiety. Our counsellor will work with you on setting weekly/bi-weekly goals, monitor your negative thoughts, worries and images and ultimately overcome them and improve your mood and overall well-being.
